I have been in Mississippi for the past five days speaking to churches and groups about Bridge Church at Perry. I enjoyed wonderful Southern hospitality, catfish and warm weather. My host for the time I was there was Carl Myers, Area Director of Missions for Pearl River Baptist Association. The folks in Pearl River were very receptive to the message that I shared about how we launched Bridge Church and how we are doing church different. I was housed at a lodge at the associational office and was pretty much out of range for internet, so I didn’t get top blog this week.
One of the things I found interesting is the speed, or lack of the rebuilding of New Orleans. I flew into NO and got to see an area that was flooded and there are many, many homes and businesses that are still destroyed and abandoned. There have been only 200,000+ move back into NO.
Lastly, we are under a blizzard watch tonight and tomorrow. From 65 and sunny to cold and snowy – how depressing.
Looks like a movie and popcorn night.
