Hopefully you have some very good friends that you share life together with. There are those who are special friends in your life and your existence would not be as rich if those people were not part of your journey. Being a pastor for the past fifteen plus years, I have had oodles of opportunities to meet and know thousands of new people, but there are only a small number I count as close friends.

I love my friends. I can tell the ones who love me. We keep in contact over distance and time. We care about each other and our families. When I was in high school, like many diluted before me and after me think, “We’ll be friends forever!” I really don’t know where many of the friends in high school are now.

As I have gotten older (I’m 45) my friends are not a nostalgic reminder of my past, but the friends I have now are a part of my life. They are the ones who are helping to shape me and help make me into the man that I am today.

I thanks God for my friends.
