There are times in life when you get stuck in and have a hard time pressing forward and continuing pursuing your vision and mission. It ‘s in those times that if we do not have a solid foundation and a burning desire to see the vision fulfilled, we will throw in the towel and walk away. Months and years of hard work, dreams, and direction thrown away all because we feel we have given our best shot. I believe that when we are the point of thinking we have given it our best shot, we back away, do some evaluations and try again.
I want to share four things I believe you must do when you hit the wall of being stuck that could propel you to the next level.
STEP 1: IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM
The point is this: Every success, every accomplishment begins with a problem. If you don’t have a problem, you don’t need a miracle. If you don’t have a need, you don’t need a miracle. It may be a physical problem, a spiritual problem, a material problem, a financial problem, a writing problem, a health problem but it must be a legitimate problem to see movement.
STEP 2: ACCEPT THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THAT PROBLEM.
If you are not concerned about being stuck and able to go forward, you could very well be the problem. it might be that you are a procrastinator and think this problem will go away on it’s own and just disappear. Possibly you are passing the buck by thinking that this wall is not your problem, you didn’t create it. Big mistake! Even if you are not the cause of being stuck take responsibility. Taking responsibility doesn’t necessarily mean taking the blame, it just means you are going to do whatever it takes to get the train rolling again.
STEP 3: DO WHAT YOU CAN
You do what you can and you do it with what you have. In my years experience in the corporate world and serving as a pastor and missionary, I know a lot of people who are more intelligent than me, better talented, greater strengths, fewer weaknesses and more money. But I am available! A number of years ago I told God I would do anything He wanted me to do and I am willing. If you would get available, He will wear you out. IF you want to be used by God, if you want to see the power of God in your life, just get available. It doesn’t take a lot of talent. God likes to do extraordinary things through ordinary people. In other words, when you are stuck, don’t sit around on your tail and throw yourself a pity party. Get up and do something about the situation.
STEP 4: EXPECT SOMETHING TO HAPPEN
You do what you can with what you’ve got and then you expect God to take it from there. God’s not going to do what you can do. It’s a waste of energy.
