Yesterday I was interviewed by Lindy Lowry, editor at Outreach Magazine, for an article they are doing in their Sept/Oct issue. Bridge Church was part of Outreach's Faith In Action campaign and one of the acts of kindness our people participated in was  gasoline buydown.  It was the third one we had done over the past twenty months, so we are getting the hand of doing them. Outreach will be focusing on gas buydowns in the particluar issue I mentioned as part of their emphasis on Faith In Action.

I met Lindy in the green room at Saddleback Church when Patrick Jesberger and I went out for the stealth conference in May. We had the opportunity to share what we were doing with Faith In Action and Lindy wanted me to get back with her regarding  our results.

Our Faith In Action day was May 18th, but because of rain, we had to reschedule to May 25th, Memorial Day weekend. Despite the holiday, we had 106 people go out and serve in the community. Some of the projects included the gas buydown, a car wash, painting fire hydrants for the village, painting 911 emergency numbers on curbs, yard work for elderly, and cookie production for the fire and police staffs.

If you get Outreach magazine, take a moment to look for the interview.
