it has been some time since the last time I made a post here on JeffCalloway.com. This summer we were able take a two-week vacation, our first in 14 years. We have also hosted two mission teams for bridge church at Perry. The first mission team that we hosted was from Smith County, Mississippi, who brought 22 people to help bridge church hold an UPWARD basketball camp. It was quite an adventure as all 22 people stayed at our home. Even though we were packed wall-to-wall it was a great time to get to know the people who came up from Mississippi. Also this summer we posted a team from Grace Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee. Grace Baptist is our flagship sponsoring church, and they brought 10 people to hold UPWARD basketball and cheerleading camps as well as performing community service projects.
I have been very, very busy planning, and praying about a new church plant in Ashtabula, Ohio. We know that it is God’s vision for us to plant churches in Northeast Ohio and we are currently looking at Ashtabula as her next church plant for 2010. We’re also looking at purchasing land in Perry Ohio for bridge church’s first church campus. So many, many things are happening this summer that kept us busy and hopping. The great thing is, that bridge church continues to grow and reach people for Christ. It has been our projection that by the end of 2008 bridge church would be running in attendance of between 200 — 250 people. God continues to amaze and bless us beyond all we could ever imagine.
My plans are to post at least 3-4 times a week here on this blog. I’ll began to cover issues such as church planting, how to raise support for a new church, vision casting, and the topic of writing books, articles, and manuscripts Re: Christian living and church leadership.
