Good Morning!
Quick update before breakfast. Yesterday I got to see some friends I hadn’t seen in awhile and meet some friends whom I had only spoken with on the phone.
The first friend I ran into was Ed Stetzer, who is the Director of Research and Missiologist for NAMB and has authored several books including Breaking the Missional Code. Ed is the keynote speaker for today and will be speaking on his favorite subject, the biblical mandate of churches being Misissional. Ed is also writing the foreword for a book I have written.
Jeremy Edmonson is planting Resurgence Church in West Evansville, IN. and was team leader for a misson team that came up last summer and helped us do survey work for Bridge Church. Not long after that trip Jeremy contacted me about church planting. He had began to have an unrest in his soul about planting a church. Jeremy was faithful and obedient in following God’s call. It is amazing that I received an email from Jeremy out of the blue last week sharing that he and his launch team were praying for Bridge Church!
Mark Kitts is the President of People Driven Software, a church information management software package that we have been using for Bridge Church. PDS is getting ready to release PDS Live, which will be PDS on steriods accessed online. Very neat and innovative approach to church management software. I ran into Mark at his booth and got to put a face with a voice and emails.
Last, but not least was Tom Doyle of NationalCineMedia. NCM handles the rental of Regal Movie Groups theaters to churches and businesses. I dealt with Tom for over three years when I pastored Lake Ridge Church as LRC rents from Regal. Tom is a great guy to work with and was exteremely helpful as LRC went portable and began to use the local Regal Cinema.
Talk to you later this afternoon.
