Every Thursday morning I meet a friend for coffee at a local coffee shop just to hang out and talk about life and God. He attends Bridge Church with his wife and three small children and is growing in his relationship with God. A little rough around the edges, but definitely a guy that has his heart in the right place. After he leaves about four other guys from Bridge come in and I hang out with them
Like most coffee shops, there are regulars that hang out and Andrei’s is no different. A couple of guys I see in there regularly are Joe and Bob. Today as we are leaving these guys are at a table and we casually ask how are they are doing and Joe shared that he was not doing well, his marriage is in trouble and he is being treated for depression. We asked if we could pray for him and he said sure, so we did. This has been a relationship that has been building for the past year and Joe trusted me to share this. I decided to sit down and hang out with these two guys who both have had problems in their lives the past year and just listen to them share what is going on in their lives.
No preaching, no pointing fingers, just being a friend. If believers would just take time to befriend people and most of all to love them unconditionally I believe we would see more of these friends become followers of Christ. Thank you God for letting me be a friend.
